What do we need to know about oatmeal.
In this article we are going to discuss a recently well known and widely consumed food – that is – you guessed it – oatmeal. (oats)
My opinion is that the oatmeal is a very good tool to build musclemass, cut down bodyfat, or for the average joe trying to be healthier. After all, it is a carbohydrate, and you shouldnt eat it before bed (except if you are bulking) , but rather eat it at breakfast, or as a pre-workout simply because the carb amount that it has is too high. Different brands have different nutritional contents,but the one i use at the moment has about 88grams of carbs,10 grams of protein, and 2 grams of fat- in a 100gram serving. wich is roughly 380kcal. It is perfectly ideal for breakfast..(you can probably add a few egg whites because the protein content is not of the highest) or just add some milk. Oatmeal is really high in fiber, wich will keep you feeling full for a long period of time.
How to prepare your oats:
There are alot of ways to do that, i am just going to share with you 3 of them.
1. Oats with water – tastes really bad, but if you are cutting down bodyfat its better to eat it like that than with milk (whole milk that is) or you can just use normal skimmed milk.
2. Oats with milk and honey – my favourite treat! i have the feeling that i can eat this all day long. It provides your body with HUGE amounts of energy , and it keeps me full for long periods of time.
3. Oats with plain yoghurt and honey (or fruits). Still a good treat, but number 2 stays my favourite.
